MV-DS, Medium Voltage, Digital Soft Starter 3,300 - 6,600VAC
Softstart UK has just newly designed and built specifically for two UK clients one in Oil and Gas and the other in Mining a Medium Voltage, Digital Soft Starter, Motor Control Centre (MCC). As a success of the projects Softstart UK is proud to introduce its MV Digital Starter unit.
The New MV Digital Starter has been designed around the standard European style MCC, therefore having a short lead time from time from order to a fully assembled system typically less than 8 weeks. The units are available from 3,300 to 6,600VAC up to 700A and have the option of switch fuse disconnect or load break switches.
The MV Digital Starter has PLC Control and a touch screen IPC to allow for programming, diagnostics and data event recording. The graphical interface of the IPC allows the operator to see statistical data such as last start time, current, power and more. Having a PLC makes the system flexible and expandable allowing for multiple options to be used to suit any application. As standard the MV Digital Starter comes with a 6.5inch colour touch screen IPC with Ethernet although an optional 8.4inch version is available. The IPC is multi-lingual and already supports English, Arabic, Farsi and Russian characters.
The Medium Voltage section is cabled between the Line, By-pass and Thyristor sections using Medium Voltage cable, making the assembly lighter and therefore needing no requirement for a partial discharge test.
The Medium Voltage sections are isolated from the Low Voltage section of the MV Digital Starter and the Electronic Potential Transformer (EPT) connection is by fibre optic for the Thyristor gate firing control.
The Vacuum Line contactors can be supplied as fused with shuttered disconnect. All Medium Voltage components comply with IEC 62271-200, IEC 60470 and UL 327.
